Ukraine is actively preparing for an upcoming high-level diplomatic meeting scheduled for Friday, August 15, on Alaska, where U.S.

President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are set to meet.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his evening video address, emphasized that Ukrainian negotiators communicate daily with Washington to ensure the principles of fair and transparent peace are upheld during the negotiations.

Zelensky expressed his awareness of Russia’s intentions to deceive the United States and stated that this strategy will not succeed.

“We recognize these attempts, but we will not allow our Western partners to be misled,” he declared.

Furthermore, Zelensky reinforced the unwavering stance of Donald Trump regarding ending hostilities and stopping the loss of lives in the conflict zone.

The Ukrainian leader also pointed out that Russia disregards deadlines, citing recent atrocities like the shelling of Zaporizhzhia, where Russian forces dropped two guided bombs.

“We understand the threats and challenges clearly.

All our partners, including Ukraine, acknowledge these dangers and are committed to counteracting them.

Russia shows no signs of genuine steps towards peace—neither on the ground nor in the air.

That is why sanctions and pressure are necessary.

The strength must be demonstrated first and foremost by the United States, Europe, and all nations seeking peace and stability in international relations,” Zelensky stressed.Notably, statements from leaders of eight Northern European and Baltic states confirm that negotiations with Russia will only be possible after a ceasefire and with Ukraine’s participation.

On August 11, EU foreign ministers will hold a dedicated meeting to explore pathways to peace, emphasizing the importance of Ukraine’s and the EU’s involvement.

Only through united efforts can the international community hope to stabilize the situation and reach a just resolution for all parties involved in the conflict.
