According to sources, on condition of anonymity, U.S.
officials stated that the lengthy negotiations held recently proved to be quite productive and marked an important step toward the goal set by Washington – ending the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
While detailed specifics remain confidential, the positive assessment from the Ukrainian side indicates a promising trajectory.
An official from the U.S.
government emphasized that these extensive discussions demonstrated substantial progress toward President Trump’s aim of resolving the conflict.
It is also significant that these talks took place just prior to the upcoming meeting between the leaders of the United States and Russia, scheduled for Alaska.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak reaffirmed Ukraine’s readiness to move forward with initial negotiations, emphasizing that the country remains committed to achieving a durable peace while safeguarding its sovereignty and without recognizing the annexed territories.
Yermak stressed that a ceasefire is urgently needed, but the current frontline cannot serve as a formal boundary.
Moreover, Kyiv receives unwavering support from its partners—not only through statements but also through tangible actions, including continued military, financial, and sanctions assistance until Russian aggression is fully halted.
Zelensky also declared that Russia will not succeed again in trying to occupy Ukrainian territory as it did with Crimea, assuring that Ukraine will defend its borders with all available means.
