In a detailed analysis of recent developments at the front, new information has emerged regarding the activities of Russian special sabotage groups in the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region.

According to the analytical resource DeepState, the Russian command employed a novel approach in conducting reconnaissance and sabotage operations.

They formed three tactical sabotage groups, each consisting of approximately 50 personnel, totaling over 150 Russian militants aiming to sow panic among Ukrainian forces and civilians alike.

These groups received mobile support and logistics, utilizing camouflage cloaks and drone systems to supply water and food via drops.Data from DeepState show that these units advanced from temporarily occupied Selydove, moving about 600 meters daily — indicating significant difficulty and tension in their progress.

Over 14 days, they covered the distance from Selydove to Pokrovsk, losing about 120 militants in the process, with only around 30 managing to reach the city.

Notably, during this period, Russian saboteurs penetrated the industrial zone in Pishaniy and, within 10 days, reached Zelinsky Street in Pokrovsk.Overall, analysts report that Russian troops intensified their operations on July 19, when sabotage units broke through into Pokrovsk and began executing diversions.

Ukrainian military efforts are focused on locating and neutralizing remaining elements of these units, some of which have already surrendered.

Earlier, the General Staff assured that reports of Ukrainian forces being encircled near Pokrovsk are false.

Nevertheless, the enemy continues to press, attempting to encircle the city and cut logistical routes to strengthen their position in the region.
