Russian Drones Launch Massive Strike on Ukraine: Over 100 Deployments and Extensive Damage

During the night of August 9 to 10, Russian forces launched a large-scale air assault on Ukraine, deploying over 100 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types and models.
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, the drones, including Shahed kamikaze units and drone imitators, were launched from Russian-controlled territories in four directions: from the temporarily occupied regions of Gvardiyske, Kursk, Shatalove, and Primorsko-Ahtarsk.
The enemy aimed to disrupt Ukraine’s air defense systems and sow chaos in the airspace.
Ukrainian military forces managed to shoot down 70 of these UAVs, but 30 others successfully hit targets across several regions.
Damage was recorded in 12 locations within Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Chernihiv oblasts, affecting infrastructure, residential buildings, and transport facilities.
Fortunately, no civilian casualties have been reported.
In Kharkiv region, an explosion was heard amid the ongoing drone attacks.
In Synelnykove, Dnipropetrovsk region, the attack damaged private homes and infrastructural facilities, including a transport enterprise.
Despite the large-scale operation, Ukrainian defense officials affirm that 70 drones were neutralized, safeguarding the lives and property of Ukrainians from destruction.
