Russian Attacks on Dnipropetrovsk Region: Railway Infrastructure Targeted, Multiple Train Cancellations
On the night of August 10, Russian forces launched another large-scale attack targeting critical railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
According to Oleksandr Persovsky, the CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia, the targeted strikes damaged key railway junctions and the station in the city of Synelnykove.
Importantly, all station personnel were evacuated to safe locations prior to the missile hits, which prevented any casualties among workers or civilians.
Nevertheless, the damage inflicted forced railway authorities to cancel several train services, and some routes were rerouted due to infrastructural destruction.Persovsky stated, ‘The peace efforts attempted by our aggressors are utterly irrational and destructive.
Each night, there’s a massive missile attack, including on railway hubs and stations in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
This indicates a deliberate strategy to destroy civilian and transport infrastructure, which only complicates the lives of thousands of Ukrainians and aims to improve logistical routes for military and humanitarian supplies,’ he explained.Ukrzaliznytsia confirmed that due to security concerns, a number of trains—including those on routes passing through Synelnykove-1—were canceled.
Among the affected trains are #6107 (Synelnykove-1 to Dnipro-Hlobynsky), #6272 (Synelnykove-1 to Saimilivka), #6277 (Saimilivka to Dnipro-Hlobynsky), and #6583 (Synelnykove-1 to Zaporizhzhia-2), among others.
To enhance passenger safety, the route for train #7202 (Kamianske to Dnipro-Hlobynsky) was changed, operating via alternative tracks to prevent further risks. The situation in the region remains tense, yet Ukrzaliznytsia assures that all necessary measures are being taken to restore damaged infrastructure swiftly.
Repair works are already underway on affected facilities, and increased security measures have been implemented across transport hubs to prevent further attacks.
Authorities urge citizens to remain calm and adhere to safety protocols amidst ongoing hostilities.
This latest incident underscores how the aggressor continues to deliberately destroy Ukraine’s infrastructure to weaken its resilience and hinder recovery efforts.
