Trump Announces Possible Land Swap Between Ukraine and Russia in Peace Deal

Former U.S.
President Donald Trump made a high-profile statement regarding the potential resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, emphasizing that a key component of the future peace agreement could involve a territorial exchange.
According to Trump, this process, which envisions returning parts of territories that have experienced fierce fighting for over three and a half years, might serve as an important step towards establishing lasting peace.
The U.S.
president did not specify which regions might be subject to such exchanges but highlighted that these are areas heavily affected by hostilities, where the lives of Ukrainians and Russians have been devastated.
“We plan to return some of these lands and carry out mutual exchanges that benefit both sides.
The process is complex and requires significant diplomatic effort, but we believe in its positive outcome,” Trump stated during a speech at the White House, where he commented on the signing of a trilateral agreement between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States.
He further added that Ukraine might need to sign a specific document to bring an end to the war, urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to take necessary steps.
“The ultimate goal is to end this conflict very soon,” Trump concluded, hinting at rapid developments on the horizon.
Negotiations and diplomatic work continue, and they could determine the future course of this complicated situation.
