On the night of August 8 to 9, the analytical project DeepState reported significant developments on the front lines in the Donetsk region.

According to their sources, Russian troops captured two key settlements — Novohatske and Tolstoy — while simultaneously pushing forward on other fronts.

These advances are the result of ongoing fierce battles that have been intensifying over several days.

DeepState reports that the occupiers have moved closer to Verkhnokamyanske, Novospasky, Nikanorivka, Voskresenka, Zelenyi Hai, and Toretsk.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that on August 8, the enemy launched a major assault on the Pokrovsk corridor, where Ukrainian defenders successfully halted 33 assault attempts.

Additionally, as of August 5, DeepState had informed about the temporary occupation of Popiv Yar by Russian forces.

According to the regional military administration, over 21,700 civilians remain in the active combat zone in the Donetsk region, including 115 children, all of whom are in danger and in urgent need of assistance and evacuation.
