North Korea Begins Widespread Dismantling of Anti-South Korean Loudspeakers at Border

For the first time in several months, tense relations between North Korea and South Korea have taken a new turn.

According to reports from South Korean defense authorities, the loudspeakers along the border started being dismantled on Saturday morning.

These devices had previously served as tools for propaganda and informational aggression by North Korea against South Korea.

North Korean military units began removing equipment used to broadcast anti-South Korean messages, continuing a long-standing conflict that dates back to the Korean War.

Many experts interpret this move as an attempt to reduce tensions and restore diplomatic dialogue, although sources indicate that the events at the border are not yet complete and dismantling is still ongoing in several border sectors.

In response, South Korea announced that it is monitoring and verifying the situation to ensure the full removal of loudspeakers across the entire border line.

This development occurs against the backdrop of last week’s decision to dismantle South Korea’s own propaganda facilities, marking an end to the era of aggressive information warfare and signaling a willingness to de-escalate regional tensions.
