Mandatory Evacuation in Lyman Community: Urgent Safety Measure for Residents

A large-scale evacuation operation is underway in the Donetsk region amid escalating security threats.

Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration, announced that in response to increasing dangers and ongoing combat activities, a decision has been made to carry out mandatory evacuation of residents from 19 settlements within the Lyman community.

These include several villages and towns such as Yarova, Brusivka, Vovchiy Yar, Derilove, Dibrava, Zakitne, Kaleniki, Koroviy Yar, Kryva Luka, Krimky, Lozove, Ozerne, Oleksandrivka, Sredne, Sosnove, Stary Karavan, Rubtsi, Shchurove, and Yatskivka.

According to the regional administration, approximately 109 children currently reside in these localities and are most at risk during the evacuation.

Local authorities, in collaboration with law enforcement and mobile services, are actively working on organizing safe routes and rapid transportation to secure regions.

This operation is complex and urgent, aimed at protecting lives and health.

Evacuations are carried out in cooperation with military administrators, rescuers, police, and volunteers.

Given the constant shelling and high threat of new attacks, these procedures are conducted under extremely difficult conditions, constantly under threat of explosions and further assaults.

Vadym Filashkin called on residents not to delay and to act swiftly: “I want to emphasize again — remaining in Donetsk oblast poses a constant threat to life.

Evacuate while you still can.

Protect your loved ones and do not risk their safety.” Over the past 24 hours, nearly 987 individuals, including 78 children, have been evacuated from frontline areas.

The evacuation is supported by military forces, rescuers, police, and volunteers, helping to minimize risks during these challenging operations.

Such measures are especially vital due to frequent shelling, creating dangerous conditions for residents, and due to the proximity to active combat zones where every minute can be critical.

It is also worth noting that Ukrainian forces have recently intensified fortification efforts around Sumy, aiming to counter potential Russian attacks, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in securing the region under the most difficult circumstances.
