French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the crucial need for Ukraine and the European Union to actively participate in future peace negotiations regarding the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Ahead of his scheduled meetings with U.S.

President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Macron highlighted that without the direct involvement of Ukraine and its European partners, achieving a sustainable peace would be unlikely.

Macron reaffirmed France’s firm support for a resolute approach and stated that Paris is already engaging in efforts within the ‘Coalition of Decisive’ to assist Ukraine in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In his statements, he pointed out that Ukraine’s future should be decided solely by its people, who have courageously fought for over three years for their freedom and security.

The French leader also stressed that Europe must participate in peace efforts, as the ongoing conflict poses an immediate threat to European security.

Macron promised to coordinate closely with Ukrainian President Zelensky and European allies to advance common objectives.

These positions come amid recent developments: the U.S.

recently announced a planned summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska, amid reports that both nations seek to reach agreements potentially stabilizing Russia’s occupation of parts of Ukraine.

In response, President Zelensky affirmed that the issue of territorial restoration is enshrined in Ukraine’s Constitution and non-negotiable.
