Ukraine’s Human Rights Commissioner Dmitro Lubinec has voiced his strong condemnation of the ongoing Russian military attacks targeting peaceful civilians and civilian infrastructure in eastern Ukraine.

He shared detailed commentary on the Telegram platform regarding tragic incidents near Kherson, where a Russian drone struck a minibus, resulting in human casualties.

According to Lubinec, two civilians lost their lives in this attack, while another 16 passengers sustained various injuries.

He also reported a drone attack on a vehicle in Zaporizhia oblast, which claimed two more lives.

Lubinec emphasized that Russian troops regularly carry out strikes using different types of weaponry, and such crimes constitute grave violations of international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Conventions.

Data from the UN Monitoring Mission in Ukraine indicate that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, over 13,580 civilians have been killed, though the human rights commissioner highlighted that these figures are not final.

He stressed that all these crimes must be held accountable, as the killing of civilians is a serious breach of international law.

Additionally, Lubinec drew attention to a massive drone attack on Kharkiv region resulting in six injuries and extensive infrastructure damage.

Moreover, a rocket strike on Dnipro injured three people, including two men aged 21 and 29, and a 41-year-old woman.

He called on the international community to stand firm against the aggression, ensure justice for victims, and hold the Russian aggressors responsible under international law.
