White House Denies Reports of Suspension of Military Aid to Ukraine and Emphasizes Routine Review Process

In Washington, officials have officially dismissed any rumors or allegations suggesting a halt or significant restriction of U.S. military assistance to Ukraine. Representatives from the administration clarified that the decision regarding a temporary pause in weapons deliveries was not made without proper procedures and consultations, emphasizing that such measures are part of standard oversight and audits conducted to ensure alignment with national strategic interests. During a briefing in Washington, White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt highlighted that this review was initiated by the U.S. Secretary of Defense immediately after her appointment and is purely technical. According to her, its purpose is to verify that all military and humanitarian aid provided aligns with U.S. strategic goals and is not affected by external circumstances. She assured that this process is not a sign of diminishing support for Kyiv, but rather a routine procedure of oversight. It is also worth noting that in March of the previous year, the Pentagon launched a dedicated website to monitor aid to Ukraine, and the Office of the Government Accountability Office reported that the U.S. provided over $30 billion in direct support from 2022 to 2024, used according to signed agreements.
