Ukrainian Air Defense Repels Large-Scale Attack, Shooting Down Over 117 Drones and Four Missiles

On the night of July 5 to 6, Ukrainian defenders recorded a significant enemy assault that lasted over six hours. The adversary launched four S-300 surface-to-air missiles from the Kursk region, accompanied by a massive wave of Shahed suicide drones and various other UAVs attacking from multiple directions. These attacks targeted areas such as Shatalevo, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk from Russia, as well as Gvardeyskoe and Chuda from the temporarily occupied Crimea. Ukrainian air forces reported that by the morning of July 6, they had neutralized 117 enemy drones of the Shahed type operating across northern, eastern, southern, and central regions of the country. Out of these, 98 were destroyed by missile and aviation systems, while 19 were suppressed using electronic warfare and radar jamming measures. The hostile attack drones struck 19 locations, causing damage and destruction, and two of the downed drones fell in areas under Ukrainian control. Additionally, 19 other hit locations experienced various damages due to the strike, signifying ongoing threats. The enemy's aerial assault continues, with new groups of Shahed drones having entered from the northern direction, further threatening Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.
