Russian Shelling in Sumy Region Causes Casualties and Extensive Destruction: One Dead, Dozens of Homes Destroyed

In the Sumy region, recent Russian artillery attacks have resulted in tragic consequences for local residents and infrastructure. According to official reports from the Sumy Regional Military Administration, late Sunday night into Monday at around 4:00 pm, Russian forces launched a massive attack on a settlement in the Bitytskyi rural council. During a 15-minute barrage, the village was targeted by four strike drones, causing widespread destruction. As a result of the shelling, one civilian lost his life, and another was wounded and requires medical assistance. The victim's body was discovered during a thorough inspection of the damaged area. Preliminary reports indicate that over a dozen homes were either completely destroyed or heavily damaged, rendering them uninhabitable. These events highlight the ongoing brutality of the conflict, with recent reports confirming that Russian military forces carried out these strikes with devastating efficiency. Earlier that day, on July 6, the city of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region suffered nearly 30 hits from drones and artillery, exacerbating the civilian humanitarian crisis and undermining everyday life in the area.
