The Head of the Occupation Monitoring Center, Petro Andriushchenko, has provided significant insights into recent troop movements by Russian forces in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to him, Russian occupying units are actively transporting large quantities of trucks with personnel through the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol towards Russian cities like Rostov and Taganrog. He noted that these vehicles predominantly move via railway routes, indicating meticulous planning and coordination. Andriushchenko speculated that this massive deployment of military equipment and personnel might be a strategic response to the current battlefield situation, particularly given the improvements observed in Ukrainian forces' positions along the Sumi direction amidst increasing difficulties faced by Russian troops. The convoy includes units from various regions, predominantly from the Caucasus, signifying a diverse gathering of forces. Past reports have confirmed extensive transfers of Russian military hardware and reserves in June, and Ukrainian soldiers have observed that due to substantial losses, Russia is pulling in new reserves, highlighting the escalating strain on the Russian army.
