Harsh Night in Kharkiv Region: Russian Drones Cause Civilian Deaths and Injuries During Shelling
The Kharkiv region witnessed a night of widespread destruction and human tragedy caused by Russian drones and artillery shelling. On July 5, the area became a battleground for relentless attacks, which resulted in numerous casualties among civilians. Recent reports confirm multiple drone strikes during both daytime and nighttime, hitting residential neighborhoods, civilian infrastructure, and public facilities. The most devastating incident involved a drone attack near the village of Odnorobivka in the Bohodukhiv district, where an 8-year-old boy was killed when a drone dropped explosives on a civilian vehicle. Another young child was seriously injured in the attack. During the night, one drone targeted a civilian car, killing the boy and injuring two other people, including a 46-year-old woman who received shrapnel wounds. A three-year-old girl suffered psychological trauma amid the stressful situation. In the Kupiansk district, under heavy artillery fire, a civilian man aged 59 lost his life, while two men and three women were wounded of varying severity. Local emergency services continue to respond to the consequences of shelling, but civilian casualties keep rising, emphasizing the urgent need for enhanced defense measures and strategies to minimize the toll among the peaceful population.
