On the evening of July 4th, Ukrainian armed forces carried out an operational special operation, marking another significant strike against critical Russian military industrial facilities. According to official information from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the attack targeted an industrial complex in the city of Cheboksary, located in the Chuvash Republic, which is a strategic hub for the production of components for modern unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles used by the Russian army. The local plant, owned by the Russian Ministry of Industry, specializes in manufacturing antenna arrays called 'Komet,' which are used in Shahed-type UAVs, as well as in systems for controlling 'Iskander-K' missiles, including for high-precision guided munitions. Ukrainian defense officials explained that the primary objective of the strike was to destroy manufacturing capacities that enable the aggressor to conduct prolonged and precise shelling operations, including targeting civilian infrastructure within Ukraine. The coordinated work of drone units, operating in conjunction with other Ukrainian defense components, facilitated this strategic attack, disrupting logistics and key production lines of Russian military equipment. Preliminary reports suggest that the targeted facilities were involved in producing adaptive antenna modules essential for maintaining the enemy’s operational capabilities, particularly for rearmament and modernization of their military units.
