The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is strongly urging swift and decisive measures in response to the increasing military aggression led by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which is deepening the crisis in Ukraine. Following an extended phone call with his Russian counterpart, Trump expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in negotiations and emphasized that immediate action is necessary as Putin shows no signs of stopping his ambitions. The Kremlin assures that it still seeks peaceful agreements; however, recent events paint a different picture. Over the past few days, Russia has launched hundreds of drones and missiles, targeting Ukrainian cities, while avoiding the most drastic steps such as the use of tactical nuclear weapons or provocations at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. The escalation of violence continues, including the use of prohibited weapons and the expansion of front lines. Intelligence reports from the Netherlands and Germany indicate an increase in chemical weapon use against Ukrainian soldiers, including drones filled with toxic substances, causing additional casualties and panic among defenders. Despite significant external financial and military support, Russia demonstrates resilience and maintains a military budget exceeding $140 billion. Meanwhile, actions by the US and its allies raise concerns due to decreased arms supplies and limited aid to Ukraine, potentially compromising its defense capabilities. US Deputy Defense Secretary Elbridge Colby was forced to halt some high-precision missile and air defense system shipments, risking Kyiv's security. While Trump's statements about wanting to help Ukraine are optimistic, actual policies and geopolitical strategies by the US and partners pose additional challenges, urging Ukraine to accelerate efforts to protect its future and sovereignty.
