In an escalating offensive in eastern Ukraine, the Russian Federation is making considerable efforts to advance its troops closer to the borders of Dnipropetrovsk Region. According to recent reports from the analytical platform DeepState, Russian troops have already captured two strategically significant villages — Novoukrainka and Zelenyi Kut — located near the administrative boundary of Dnipropetrovsk. These settlements are situated close to Dachne, a key point in Russian efforts to push further along this section of the front. Ukrainian defenders are vigorously resisting this advance, but the enemy persists in trying to establish a foothold there by employing tactics involving small infantry assault groups. Due to their numerical superiority, Russian forces are continuously attacking Ukrainian positions with small units, attempting to break through defensive lines. Military analysts warn that these actions exert considerable pressure on Ukrainian troops and complicate the overall situation on the battlefield. Meanwhile, Ukrainian military units are striving to hold back the enemy’s progress by deploying additional reserves and resources, yet the overwhelming numbers of Russian-equipped personnel and military hardware provide them with a tactical advantage. Fighting remains intense near settlements like Yalta, Zirka, Shevchenko, Piddubne, and others — all under persistent enemy pressure. Commander of the UAV battalion of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians, Andriy Nazarenko, shared insights into the enemy’s tactics, which include massive assault operations aimed at breaking Ukrainian defenses. Ukrainian soldier Stanislav Bunyatov emphasizes that in this sector, Russian advances could be faster than in Donetsk, due to lower population density and fewer natural obstacles in Dnipropetrovsk compared to other fronts, making it more challenging for Ukrainian forces to hold their positions against the rapid advances of the occupiers.
