Kyiv's football club Dynamo Kyiv kicked off its pre-season training camps in Austria with a less than successful start. The first friendly match, part of their preparation for the upcoming season, was played against one of the new contenders in Hungary's top league — the 'Kisvárda' team. Unfortunately, the Kyiv team was defeated with a score of 0:2, giving up two goals in the latter part of the game. The match took place in Slovenia, where the opponents scored first on the 24th minute through Jordanov. Later, on the 71st minute, Matanovic converted a penalty, sealing the victory for his team. The first half was quite balanced, but in the second half, Dynamo Kyiv couldn't avoid conceding goals. The squad featured players such as Morgun, Karavaev, Popov, Zakharchenko, and others. Players Mikhaylenko and Popov received yellow cards during the game. The next friendly match for Dynamo is scheduled for July 6 against the same 'Kisvárda'. Official season games will begin on July 22, starting with the second qualifying round of the Champions League. This match will determine Dynamo's upcoming opponent, which will be either 'Žalgiris' from Lithuania or 'Häggspúr' from Malta, as part of the tournament’s next stage. Earlier reports indicated that Shakhtar Donetsk also secured a victory in their first friendly match under the leadership of Turan.
