Summer Heat Returns to Ukraine: Meteorologists Warn of High Temperatures and Changing Weather Patterns

After a temporary cool spell in June, which brought brief moments of warmth and slightly lowered temperatures, Ukrainians are once again facing the usual summer heat. According to forecasts from leading meteorologists, including Ihor Kibalchich, the atmospheric conditions within the next two to three days are expected to undergo significant changes, resulting in the formation of a stable anti-cyclonic high-pressure system that will lead to increased temperatures. The influence of high atmospheric pressure will make the weather predominantly dry and sunny in the southern and western regions of Ukraine. On the eastern and northern areas, brief rain showers and thunderstorms are possible, especially during the night when weak atmospheric fronts pass through. Meteorologist Ihor Kibalchich states that on Saturday, July 5, sunny weather is forecasted for the western regions without significant rainfall, with light variable winds at speeds up to 8 m/s. Temperatures are expected to be quite high: nighttime temperatures from +8 to +13°C, daytime from +21 to +26°C, and in Transcarpathia even reaching +26 to +31°C. In northern Ukraine, short-term rain and thunderstorms are forecasted during the night, with dry weather during the day; wind will be from the northwest at 7-12 m/s, with nighttime temperatures between +12 and +17°C and daytime from +22 to +27°C. Central Ukraine will experience cloudy weather with brief thunderstorms and rain during the night, while the day will be clear and dry. Wind again from the northwest at 7-12 m/s, with similar temperature ranges. The southern part of the country, including Crimea, will have variable cloudiness without significant precipitation, except in the Azov region where short-term showers and thunderstorms are possible after noon. Night temperatures will range from +17 to +22°C, and daytime temperatures from +27 to +32°C, with some areas reaching +35°C. Eastern regions might see short-term rain and thunderstorms at night, while during the day weather remains dry; wind directions will vary from the south-western to the south-eastern at speeds of 3-12 m/s. High confidence exists that by Sunday, July 6, temperatures will reach +30 to +35°C in southern and western regions, while northern and central areas will stay warm and dry with no significant rainfall forecasted. Kyiv and other central cities are expected to have sunny, comfortable weather with temperatures around +29°C during the day. These weather conditions confirm the ongoing trend of high summer temperatures, prompting heat stress concerns, especially in southern regions. The upcoming days are expected to be hot, so Ukrainians should prepare for high thermal loads, and meteorologists warn of possible localized thunderstorms and short rain showers in certain areas.
