The engineering teams of Ukraine’s national power grid operator, «Ukrenergo», have successfully restored the high-voltage transmission line that supplies the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). This crucial achievement came after several hours of emergency measures necessitated by restrictions in power supply caused by enemy attacks. Regarding the situation, the station has been operating on diesel generators, which serve as the last resort to maintain the vital systems of the nuclear plant. This incident occurred on July 4th, following a destructive artillery shelling that resulted in the emergency disconnection of the line connecting ZNPP to Ukraine’s energy grid. After complex repair works and adherence to strict safety protocols, Ukrainian energy specialists managed to restore the high-voltage power transmission, bringing the station back to stable operation and ensuring its critical systems receive the necessary resources. This event marks a significant advancement in strengthening Ukraine’s energy independence and security, as well as a key step towards regional energy stability amid ongoing conflicts.
