Kyiv once again faced a night marked by terror as Russian forces launched a massive airstrike on the Ukrainian capital. The impact of this attack was devastating: residential buildings, educational, medical, and transportation infrastructure suffered severe damage, prompting urgent response from rescue services across the country. According to reports from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), the attack took place during the night and targeted civilians, resulting in numerous injuries. Among the injured is a 10-year-old girl currently under hospital care. Immediately after the strikes, rescue teams mobilized across several districts: Solomianskyi, Sviatošynskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Darnytskyi, and Holosiivskyi. The response involved extensive efforts to eliminate fires, clear debris, and assist victims. In Solomianskyi district, a five-story residential building was partially destroyed, and a fire broke out on the roof of a seven-story apartment complex covering about 2,000 square meters. Simultaneously, there were fires at a warehouse, a car service station, and a garage cooperative, destroying many civilian facilities. In Sviatošynskyi district, the impact was even more severe: a 14-story residential building caught fire after being hit, with damaged cars and ongoing firefighting operations in various non-residential structures. On Shevchenkivskyi district, an unoccupied eight-story building was damaged at the first floor, and debris from Russian UAVs fell in Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts. Overall, more than 450 rescuers and nearly 100 units of special equipment from SESU were involved in the immediate aftermath, working tirelessly to extinguish fires, clear rubble, and restore safety. Earlier, emergency services released images and footage of destruction caused by Russian missile strikes in the Fastiv district of Kyiv region, highlighting the scale of the tragedy and the relentless efforts of Ukrainian responders to recover from the night of terror.
