Zelensky awards Denmark’s 11-year-old volunteer helping Ukrainian children with ‘Future of Ukraine’ distinction

During his diplomatic visit to Denmark, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky bestowed a special honor called the 'Future of Ukraine' award upon a young Danish volunteer, 11-year-old Jens Fogh Thomsen. This young philanthropist has made a remarkable contribution by collecting over 34,000 Danish kroner—approximately 3,200 US dollars—to purchase school backpacks and supplies for Ukrainian children affected by the war. Jens Mades and handmade Easter decorations to fund his charitable efforts, and through their sale, he has supported children who have suffered from military conflicts and upheavals. President Zelensky emphasized that Jens is the first foreigner to receive this award, highlighting his compassionate and proactive stance in aiding Ukraine. "Jens not only crafts Easter ornaments by hand but also uses the proceeds to help our children," Zelensky stated. He also recalled that the 'Future of Ukraine' award was established at the end of May as a symbol of the bravery, resilience, and awareness shown by children amid the ongoing full-scale war. The Ukrainian leader expressed deep gratitude to all who sincerely support Ukraine and thanked Jens on behalf of the entire nation and its children for his genuine kindness and active engagement.
