Ukrainian General Staff Denies Russian Capture of Dachene Village in Dnipropetrovsk Region

A new wave of information has emerged in Ukraine’s diplomatic and military circles regarding the situation on the eastern front. The Ukrainian General Staff’s spokesperson dismissed claims made by Russian propagandists, who asserted that Russian troops had seized a strategic foothold in the village of Dachene, located on the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions. According to military officials, these reports are false and are aimed at destabilizing the situation and spreading misinformation among the public. In reality, a few days ago, a small Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group infiltrated Dachene, took some photos with the Russian tricolor flag, and sought to create the illusion of control over the area. Ukrainian forces responded swiftly, eliminating the group. Additionally, during one recent assault, two Russian soldiers were captured by Ukrainian Marines, which highlights the effectiveness of Ukrainian defenders on the battlefield. The General Staff emphasizes that control over Dachene remains with Ukrainian forces. Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Counteraction Center of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, confirmed that Russian troops did not seize Dachene, and military experts noted that the region has a lower population density compared to Donetsk, which allows Russian forces to advance more rapidly in this area.
