Heatwave: Ukraine to Experience Temperatures Up to 30°C and Short-term Rains in the East

In the coming days, Ukraine will face a significant rise in temperatures, bringing hot weather with daytime temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius. According to data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, most regions will see daytime temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees, with some western and southern areas experiencing peaks up to 33 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will remain relatively mild, between 12 and 17 degrees, while coastal areas will enjoy warmer nights, reaching up to 20 degrees. The eastern part of the country, however, may see short-term local showers on Thursday, which will not lower the overall temperature but will add a bit of variability to the local climate. Kyiv is expected to remain dry on July 3, with daytime temperatures around 28-30 degrees, and nighttime temperatures between 15 and 17 degrees. Historical temperature records for Kyiv, kept by the Boris Sreznevsky Observatory, show that the highest temperature ever recorded was 33.9°C in 1885, while the lowest was 9°C above zero, recorded in 1892, illustrating the city's significant climate variability.
