Fighting Continues Near the Administrative Border of Dnipropetrovsk Region: Is There a Real Threat to Dnipro?

Intense military clashes are ongoing near the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region, attracting the attention of Ukrainian forces and security analysts alike. According to Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the city of Dnipro currently faces no imminent large-scale military threat from Russian occupation forces beyond missile and drone attacks, which are primarily acts of intimidation and psychological pressure. He emphasized that active hostilities persist along the southeastern outskirts of the region, including along its perimeter, and these conflicts have been ongoing for some time—nothing particularly new is occurring there. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that a few days ago, a reconnaissance group attempted to infiltrate from the Donetsk border into one of the villages in the region, Dachne, but was swiftly eradicated by Ukrainian defenders. Additionally, military expert Stanislav Bunyatov highlighted that due to the lower density of settlements in Dnipropetrovsk compared to Donetsk, Russian troops might be able to advance more quickly and penetrate deeper into the region. Although there is no indication of widespread fighting at this moment, the risk for Dnipropetrovsk remains significant, especially considering the ongoing tensions along its borders.
