Online Service for Vehicle Registration Replacement Now Available in ‘Diia’: New Opportunities for Ukrainian Drivers
Ukrainian car owners now have an additional convenient tool to quickly and safely update their technical documents through a newly introduced digital service in the 'Diia' mobile application. Replacing vehicle registration documents can be done without visiting the State Motor Vehicle Service Centers, significantly saving time and effort and avoiding long queues. To replace a technical passport, users need to log into the app, navigate to the 'Services' section, select 'Drivers,' and click on 'Replace Technical Passport.' They will then fill out a request, choose delivery options—either to a Ukrainian Post Office branch or via courier—confirm their details, and pay the fee. Once processed, the new document will be sent by mail, and users will receive notification of its delivery. This service is especially useful in cases of document loss, damage, updating personal data, switching to digital versions, or changing license plates. However, for modifications related to technical vehicle characteristics, such as engine capacity, fuel type, or color, a personal visit to the MVS service center remains mandatory. The Ministry of Digital Transformation has announced that soon in the 'Diia' app, users will be able to submit notifications about the start or completion of private house construction up to 500 square meters, a functionality previously accessible only through the 'Diia' portal or Centers for Administrative Services, thus further streamlining the process for citizens.
