In June, Ukraine’s air defense systems recorded a significant surge in combating Russian air attacks, successfully destroying over 4700 enemy air targets. This achievement highlights both the high operational readiness of Ukrainian air defense and the persistent effort to protect the nation’s sky. According to the Ukrainian Air Force command, during this period, approximately 4758 air targets were intercepted, including 8 of the notorious «Kinzhal» hypersonic missiles. The intensity of the missile strikes involved extensive use of Kh-47 M2 «Kinzhal» aerial bombs, with Ukrainian defenses managing to shoot down half—8 out of 17 launched. Some missiles failed to reach their targets and are marked as lost in the official stats. Overall, in June, Ukrainian air defense destroyed: 8 «Kinzhal» missiles, 93 Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles, 14 «Iskander-M» and KN-23 ballistic missiles, 12 «Caliber» cruise missiles, 13 Х-59/69 guided aviation missiles, 27 «Iskander-K» cruise missiles, over two thousand Shahed attack drones, 659 reconnaissance UAVs, and about 1500 other unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukrainian Air Force flights totaled 895 sorties, including roughly 580 for fighter cover and over 220 for strike operations and support missions. Throughout June, Ukraine’s air forces eliminated 646 airborne targets, targeting command posts, logistical hubs, and concentrations of enemy personnel and equipment, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force command.
