Critical Support Decline for Ukrainian Army: Donations Plummet, Urgent Mobilization of Resources Needed
Ukraine is currently facing significant challenges in securing its defense efforts. Despite the importance of international and domestic support, the level of donations from citizens and charitable organizations has sharply decreased, potentially jeopardizing the ability of Ukrainian defenders to hold the line. Ukrainian Air Force pilot Dmitro, known by his call sign 'Apostol', believes that without active financial assistance and enormous support from volunteers, charitable funds, and the Ukrainian people, our military may be forced to endure severe setbacks. During a recent broadcast on a popular YouTube project, he also discussed the possibility that Russia, in the event of Ukraine's victory, would refuse to pay reparations and emphasized that negotiations with Moscow are unlikely to bring long-lasting peace. Furthermore, 'Apostol' noted that Ukrainian soldiers continue to fight tirelessly, but this resilience heavily depends on society's and state’s capacity to sustain the defense financially and through mobilization efforts. Currently, a fundraising campaign is ongoing for four artillery brigade units, but the support from Ukrainians has significantly diminished, signaling concern for the country’s future security. He called on citizens to remain active, encourage awareness of the importance of aid, and not forget the necessity of supporting the army during the most difficult times. His critique especially targets those who donate small sums—around 200 hryvnias per month—hoping that such gestures fulfill all 'black work'. Experienced soldier Oleg 'Palich' Davidyuk stressed that this approach is flawed; citizens need to understand their responsibility and support their country's defense not only financially but also patriotically, because unity and solidarity are the true strength of our resistance.
