Zelensky Denies Successful Russian Offensive in Sumy Region: Ukrainian Forces Complete Assigned Tasks and Halt Enemy Advancements

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his latest statement, emphasized that over the past week of military operations in the Sumy region, Ukrainian defense forces have fully accomplished their assigned objectives and are effectively resisting the Russian offensive. He highlighted the Pokrovsky direction, where significant enemy forces are concentrated and active assault operations are underway. Zelensky expressed gratitude to every soldier and military unit for their resilience and courage in defending Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity. He stressed that the goals set to impede Russian advances in the region have been fully achieved, and the Russian plans to seize Sumy are currently failing. The president underlined that Ukraine’s military success is thanks to the continuous and coordinated efforts of all units on the frontline. Additionally, Zelensky mentioned that Ukrainian forces remain actively engaged within the Kursk operation, which has been ongoing for nearly ten months, yielding promising results and contributing to security along northern borders. He further noted that as of today, Russian movements in the border areas of Sumy have been halted, and the front line has stabilized, marking a significant step toward Ukraine’s victory. This demonstrates that Russian offensive plans in this region are presently not materializing, and Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy on all fronts, ensuring the safety of civilians and the sovereignty of Ukraine.
