The tense military situation in northeastern Ukraine once again underscored the swift response and high professionalism of Ukrainian troops in neutralizing enemy forces. Continuous Russian movements and attempts to advance towards Sumy prompted special attention to the tactical operations of Ukrainian scouts from the 225th Separate Assault Battalion. Not only did they successfully eliminate an enemy infantry unit, but they also captured an extraordinary trophy – a legendary sniper knife, which even the most skeptical soldiers found impressive. This unique weapon, designed back in the 1970s at the Tula Arms Plant, combines features of both cold steel and firearm in a single body. It is equipped with a high-quality blade with a saw edge on the back for cutting metallic rods up to one centimeter thick. The main feature is a single-shot system, making this knife ideal for reconnaissance and special operations with minimal noise. The effective firing range is up to 25 meters, allowing its use directly at the front lines in combat situations. Ukrainian military personnel, including the regiment commander Major Oleg Shiryaev, who has experience in knife combat, expressed amazement at this trophy. According to him, it was the first time he saw such a weapon in real life: 'We long believed that a shooting knife was a Soviet myth. But after capturing this trophy, we confirmed that such weapons exist and are operational in combat.' This incident highlights once again the high level of preparedness of Ukrainian soldiers, their readiness for unforeseen situations, and their ability to utilize even the most unconventional weapons to defend the country.
