Tragic Accident in Romania: Ukrainian Bus Collides with Minibus, Woman Killed

On the morning of June 30th, a devastating traffic accident occurred in northeastern Romania, resulting in one fatality and serious injuries to several others. According to preliminary reports, a large passenger bus carrying around 60 Ukrainian citizens, including 21 children, collided with a Romanian minibus that was stationary on the roadside of the DN2 highway in the Bacau district. The incident happened at dawn, and local police stated that the cause was the bus driver failing to notice the parked vehicle, leading to the collision. As a result, a 29-year-old woman from Romania, a passenger in the minibus, lost her life. Four more individuals sustained severe injuries and were urgently hospitalized. An additional passenger from the bus was also transported to medical facilities, and six others, including two young children, received on-site assistance. The bus driver, whose nationality has not been specified but is known not to be Romanian, is a 40-year-old man, and a blood alcohol test returned negative. Authorities have not yet disclosed his identity. This incident follows recent road mishaps in the region, including a crash near Constanta last week, when a bus traveling from Odesa overturned, injuring four people. The tragedy has prompted local authorities to tighten road safety measures and urge drivers to exercise extreme caution while on the roads.
