Iran’s Role in International Politics: Demands for US and Israel’s Acknowledgment in 12-Day Conflict and Recent Military Incidents

In recent days, tension in the Middle East has escalated to unprecedented levels. Iran has officially addressed the United Nations Security Council demanding recognition of those responsible for the extensive 12-day war between Israel and the United States. According to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Tehran insists that the international body acknowledge Israel and the US as the initiators of the conflict, holding them accountable and demanding compensation for damages and destruction. This move is part of Iran’s broader diplomatic efforts in response to previous military actions and foreign interventions. Currently, the US and Israel have not issued any official response to Iran’s demands. According to Iran’s Ministry of Health, at least 627 individuals have died as a result of Israeli airstrikes since June 13. Israel reports 28 casualties inflicted by Iranian missile attacks. The conflict’s origins trace back to an Israeli preemptive strike on June 13 aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear program and targeting military sites. On June 22, U.S. Air Forces attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. By June 24, U.S. President Donald Trump announced agreements for a full ceasefire between Israel and Iran, facilitated by Qatar. Israel confirmed its acceptance of a bilateral ceasefire but warned that it would respond strongly to any violations, emphasizing its readiness to retaliate against provocations. These ongoing developments heighten regional instability and reflect the complex geopolitical interests of global and regional powers involved in the conflict.
