In an extraordinary sporting achievement, the Ukrainian women's national volleyball team secured their third victory in the prestigious Golden European League, reaffirming their strength and high skill level on the European stage. The final battle took place on June 29th in Sweden, where two strong teams met — Hungary and Ukraine. In a tense and highly competitive final, the Ukrainian players managed to clinch the win in four sets with a score of 3:1, demonstrating resilience and team spirit once again. The match result: Ukraine — Hungary — 3:1 (25:16, 23:25, 25:16, 25:17). Prior to this, our girls defeated Sweden 3:0 in the semifinals, and secured their spot in the final after a hard-fought 3:2 victory against Romania. This victory marked the third in Ukrainian volleyball history at this prestigious tournament, having previously won in 2017 and 2023. It’s notable that in 2017, the competition was called the European League, featuring not all of the top European teams, unlike recent years when the format has become more competitive and prestigious. An additional positive development is that both the men's and women's Ukrainian volleyball teams have already qualified for the 2025 World Championship, a significant achievement and a testament to the high level of the national squads.
