Ukrainian Armed Forces are advancing on the front lines in Donetsk Oblast: current efforts in the Lyman direction

Ukrainian soldiers continue active operations along the front line in Donetsk Oblast, particularly in the Lyman sector, making progress in advancing and holding positions. According to the Analytical Institute for War Studies (ISW), Ukrainian units have achieved certain successes in the northern part of the village of Torske, which is located within this strategic section of the front. An overview of sources and geolocation videos published on June 27 indicates that Ukrainian troops carried out successful actions in this area, positively affecting defensive positions. However, these reports are only partially confirmed, considering statements from Russian military bloggers, who claim that their forces have allegedly advanced into the southern part of the village of Hlushchenkove. Such information remains unverified by official sources—ISW reminds that all these reports should be treated with caution, as there is currently no sufficient evidence to confirm their accuracy. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed enemy activity in this zone in its evening summary. According to the data, over the past day, Russian troops launched 16 attacks in the areas of Nadiya, NovoEhorivka, Rydkodub, Zelenaya Dolina, Yampolivka, Hrekivka, Torske, as well as in the directions of Serebrianka and Hrihoriivka. As a result of intense fighting, these areas have become scenes of heavy battles—at least four clashes are ongoing, indicating a tense situation on this part of the front. Additionally, it is important not to forget about the high-precision air support provided to Ukrainian forces—thanks to airstrikes using the Kabells (KAB), the enemy suffered significant losses. Nearby settlements, including Pidlyman, have experienced destruction and damage from strikes. It is worth noting that earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces already showed signs of success in this sector of the front—there is a confirmed successful breakthrough north-west of Rydkodub, supporting the strategy of gradual liberation and strengthening of positions. This aligns with the overall picture of front-line stabilization and demonstrates the persistent efforts of Ukrainian troops in the direction of de-occupation.
