On Sunday, June 30, near the village of Luzhanka in Zakarpattia, border guards from the Mukachevo detachment conducted a special operation resulting in the detention of six men attempting to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. According to official reports, the arrested individuals include four residents of Zaporizhzhia and two from Ternopil regions. They were stopped just 400 meters from the state border. During the inspection, it was revealed that all of them had used the services of organizers of illegal border crossings, who were identified through social media platforms. The detainees paid organizers 120,000 hryvnias each for their assistance in crossing. They received routing instructions and guidance remotely through messaging apps, where they coordinated their actions and were advised on how to bypass official border checkpoints. The individuals have been issued administrative protocols under Article 204-1 of the Administrative Code of Ukraine for attempting to illegally cross the border. Their cases have been forwarded to court. Authorities are actively working to identify those who organized this illegal channel. It is also known that some of these men avoided mobilization: those who fail to pay fines for mobilization violations risk losing their property and funds. Additionally, it has been confirmed that a young border guard fled to Slovakia and sought political asylum there. Investigations continue, aiming to uncover all involved persons and the mechanisms behind this illegal smuggling operation.
