Russian MiG-31K Fighters Taken Off from Savalyske Airfield: Possible Hypersonic “Kinzhal” Attack

On the night of June 29, Russian military forces once again intensified aerial reconnaissance and potential offensive actions over Ukrainian territory. Around 2 a.m., a strategic MiG-31K fighter was recorded takeoff from the Savalyske airfield, belonging to Russia. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which monitor enemy aviation movements in real-time and respond promptly to any threats. The MiG-31K that took to the sky is equipped with a launch system for hypersonic Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" missiles. These missiles are capable of traveling at very high speeds, including hypersonic velocities, making them especially dangerous for any targets. The use of "Kinzhal" opens the possibility for Russia to deliver a swift and large-scale strike on strategic and tactical objects within Ukraine. At the same time, this event has heightened tension and increased alarm among Ukrainian defenders and civilians. According to official information from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, by 2:15 a.m., air raid alerts were in effect across all regional centers and regions of the country. In response to this signal, the country activated all available air defense systems to counter the potential missile attack. The only exception appears to be Zakarpattia, where the situation remains under control or less tense. This incident once again highlighted the serious nature of the modern military threat posed by hypersonic technology. Ukraine is strengthening its defensive capabilities and calls on international partners to intensify support in countering Russian aggression, which increasingly employs advanced weaponry to escalate the conflict. In this situation, every hour counts, and the response of Ukrainian military and authorities remains critically important for national security.
