Russian Combined Attack Hits Zaporizhzhia and Poltava Region: Facilities Damaged and Fires
On the night of June 29, Russian military forces launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukrainian territory, which included missile strikes and drone activity. As a result of this aggression, infrastructure objects in Zaporizhzhia and the Kremenchuk district of Poltava region were damaged. According to regional officials, industrial enterprises were affected, and a significant fire broke out at one of them. The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that during the nighttime shelling a production facility of a local enterprise was damaged. Information indicates that debris from rockets or shells significantly damaged the industrial building, posing a serious threat to workers and property. In addition to infrastructural destruction, a fire broke out there, which had to be extinguished by local fire rescue units. The situation in Poltava was no less tense. Volodymyr Kohut, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, noted that in the Kremenchuk district the enemy also targeted an infrastructure object, causing a fire that was brought under control by rescue services. Details regarding the extent of damages and the number of casualties are still being clarified, but it is clear that these strikes resulted in significant material losses. Information about the targets of these Russian strikes confirms a long-term trend of escalating aggression from Moscow ahead of a new offensive. Against the backdrop of constant threats from Russian drones and hints at possible bombings, on the night of June 29, a Russian Tu-95MS bomber formation was recorded in the sky from the Olenya aerodrome. At the same time, a MiG-31K aircraft equipped with the Sapsaylek missile system, intended for interceptor and missile strike missions, was deployed. This escalation once again emphasizes that Ukraine remains under serious attack by Russian forces, which are employing various tactics to weaken Ukraine's defenses and cause maximum destruction on Ukrainian soil. Authorities urge the population to remain cautious and not ignore air raid signals, while security agencies and armed forces continue working to prevent new attacks and protect vital infrastructure.
