On Tuesday, June 28, the Kherson region experienced another massive shelling by Russian forces, resulting in injuries to seven civilians. This was reported in an official Telegram channel by Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration. According to him, in the past day, the entire region—from the regional center to the most remote settlements—came under enemy fire, with the affected area covering 26 localities. Overall, a significant number of residential buildings and infrastructure objects were damaged as a result of the Russian attacks. The Regional Military Administration reported that Russian soldiers destroyed or severely damaged at least nine private houses, as well as damaged household buildings, several cars, and public transportation—including a bus. Fires targeted social infrastructure and residential areas in various settlements, causing substantial moral and material damage to the local residents. Tragic news did not end there: between the night of June 28 and 29, Russian occupiers used kamikaze drones Shahed-131/136 against the region. According to our military, air defense forces managed to shoot down five of them flying over Kherson region. This once again highlights the scale of the problem—the enemy is attempting to increase pressure and strike key social and infrastructure sectors of the region. Preliminary reports indicated that during the night of June 28-29, Ukrainian defenders also shot down three enemy kamikaze drones Shahed-136, which were targeting critical infrastructure for maximum destruction. These actions by the occupiers underscore the urgent need to improve air defense systems and enhance response capabilities to aggression. The military assures that they will do everything possible to protect civilians and maintain the territorial integrity of the region in this challenging situation.
