On the night of June 29, the Ukrainian Air Forces recorded large-scale enemy aviation actions – the opponent carried out 537 strikes across Ukrainian territory simultaneously, making it one of the largest air attacks in recent times. At least 249 targets were shot down, and another 226 were identified as lost in terms of location. The situation was commented on by the Air Forces command, emphasizing the challenges and high intensity of attacks from Russian forces. Source: Ukrainian Air Forces Press Service According to military reports, during the night, the occupiers intensified their activity on several fronts, employing various means of air assault. In particular, 477 drones were used – 211 were shot down, while 225 were damaged due to loss of communication or destroyed during flight. This indicates that Russian unmanned aerial vehicles remain one of the main components of their attacks. In addition to drones, the Russians launched cruise missiles and ballistic weapons. Specifically, four X-47M2 Kinzhal missiles were launched, of which… one was shot down, while the other three lost their designated targets. The Russian military also used seven Iskander-M and KN-23 cruise missiles, with one being destroyed by Ukrainian air defense, and another 33 X-101/Iskander-K missiles were mostly shot down — but one of them struck its target, confirming Ukraine’s air defense capability to combat the high-precision missile threats from the enemy. There was also use of "Caliber" missiles — five launched, four of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems. Additionally, the Russians employed S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles, one of which hit its target. It was recorded that Russian lethal strikes affected at least six locations across different parts of Ukraine. The damages caused by these attacks concentrated in two directions — five missile and drone hits managed to damage objects in six different places, while Ukrainian air defense forces were able to shoot down and neutralize part of the total targets, destroying 249 of them. Furthermore, despite efforts by Ukrainian troops, debris and fragments from downed cruise missiles and drones were detected in eight instances — in two of which fragments of damaged or crashed UAVs were recorded. Analyzing this night crisis, military experts emphasize that the Russian side demonstrates a high level of concentration and massiveness of their attacks, using all available means to cause maximum damage and destabilize the situation in Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrainian air defense forces continue operating in an enhanced mode, managing to mitigate the impact of strikes and preserve vital infrastructure. This night once again proved the high tension and complexity of the frontline situation, as well as hinted that the enemy does not intend to reduce the pace of attacks until they achieve their set objectives.
