The city of Poltava fell victim to a large-scale missile and drone strike carried out by Russian forces, targeting critical elements of the railway infrastructure. As a result of the attack, the main railway station, 'Poltava-Pivdenna', suffered significant damage: doors and windows were shattered, and parts of the ceiling partially collapsed, according to the Ukrainian Railways' official Telegram channel. Additionally, the suburban station, administrative buildings, and several railcars were also damaged. Fortunately, as railway staff and passengers were in shelters at the time, there were no casualties. Despite the destruction of infrastructure, train services resumed on schedule, ensuring the continuation of transportation for residents. Local authorities and railway workers are actively engaged in restoring the affected facilities to restore full operational capacity as quickly as possible, aiming to ensure the safety and mobility of the population amid ongoing hostilities.
