Since the beginning of 2025, 128 cases of arson attacks on military vehicles and their property have been recorded in Ukraine, which is one of the most high-profile and worst indicators in the context of armed aggression by Russia. This information was announced by the Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Andriy Nebytov, at an operational meeting with the heads of criminal police units in the Donetsk region. His words emphasize that these cases are not simple hooliganism, but targeted acts of terror directed against the state's defense capabilities, aimed at weakening its resilience in difficult times of war. According to a senior representative of the National Police, this year has become especially active in the context of sabotage and terrorist actions by Russian special services. In total, 44 terrorist acts have been committed since the beginning of the year on the orders of the enemy, many of which have already been successfully solved by law enforcement agencies. At the same time, it was possible to prevent another 21 events at the initial stage - agents and saboteurs were exposed before their plans were implemented. All this indicates a systematic loss of awareness and control over the situation in Ukraine by Russian intelligence and terrorist groups. The most frequent victims of terrorist acts were military personnel - 12 cases, and police facilities - 9 cases. Criminals usually used homemade explosive devices created from improvised materials with instructions from Moscow and St. Petersburg. Explosives and subversive devices were delivered through underground channels, using social networks, messengers and those platforms that seemed safe for communication. The stones in the garden of Russian agents are Telegram channels, job forums, sites selling used items, dating groups, and even mail disguised as private messages to relatives. In total, 128 arson attacks on military vehicles have been registered this year, of which 84 have already been solved. This once again confirms that Russian special services are actively recruiting local perpetrators to commit arson and sabotage, using young people and minors. It is known that recruitment takes place through social networks and messengers, where information about possible earnings is spread by potential “curators”. They do not disdain such methods as sending disguised parcels with explosives under the guise of messages from relatives. Of particular concern were the investigations that revealed that at the end of September 2024 in the city of Kremenchuk, the police detained two minor girls – 15 and 16 years old. They were suspected of setting fire to a car purchased by volunteers to help the Ukrainian military. According to the investigation, the girls committed this crime for money received due to difficulties in relations with curators from the Russian Federation, who recruit and hire young people for such illegal actions. However, as sources in law enforcement agencies note, the structures controlled by the Russians still did not plan to pay for the arson, and this is an indicator that the crime was committed more for a small sum of money than on a specific instruction. The young criminals will already receive their share of life behind bars, and their participation in this daring crime is also a consequence of excessive frivolity and inexperience, which was used by the enemy. In conclusion, it is worth emphasizing: the state and law enforcement agencies are making every effort to prevent such crimes, but Russian special services do not give up for a long time and continue to wage a hybrid war against Ukraine, purposefully inciting and recruiting young people, sending explosives in parcels and organizing arsons. Therefore, citizens are urged to be especially careful, be thoughtful about new acquaintances on social networks, and avoid receiving parcels and goods from strangers. In the fight for the country's security, everyone needs to be vigilant and careful so as not to give the enemy a single chance to implement his insidious plans.
