Shakhtar sells legionnaire: Lemkin moves to Twente in the Netherlands

Donetsk football club Shakhtar has officially confirmed the sale of its central defender Stav Lemkin to the Dutch Twente, which is another step in their policy of updating the squad and preparing for the new football season. This confirmation appeared on the official website of the Dutch club, and analytical resources, in particular Transfermarkt, estimate the transfer at about $ 1.5 million. A new stage in the career of the 24-year-old Israeli defender will begin immediately with the signing of a long-term contract - until the summer of 2028. This decision demonstrates the high level of confidence on the part of the Twente management in Lemkin's potential and his ability to strengthen the team's defensive line in national and European tournaments. Back in the summer of 2023, Lemkin joined Shakhtar from the Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv, they signed a contract for approximately 850 thousand euros. During this short period, he played five matches for the Miners, but, not being established in the starting lineup, he did not stay long in the Donetsk club. Before moving to Ukraine, the Israeli football star regularly played for Maccabi Tel Aviv on loan, where in the 2022/2023 season he played 28 matches and scored one goal. His move to Shakhtar was perceived as an opportunity for his further development and strengthening the defensive line of the Ukrainian championship. Meanwhile, Shakhtar is already searching for new players to replace him, as the club is preparing for future tournaments and seeks to gain a foothold in European competitions. In addition to personnel changes, the team's coach emphasizes the importance of stability and high competition within the team. By the way, the team has already announced the first home match in the Europa League qualifiers, which will be held in Slovenia. This is an important stage for Shakhtar to gain a pass to the main stage of the tournament and show its best qualities on the European stage. Thus, Lemkin's transfer is part of the Donetsk club's strategic plan for the new season, which involves strengthening the squad, attracting young talents and stabilizing the situation within the team. At the same time, fans are eagerly awaiting new events and results in European competitions, hoping for a successful performance of their favorite club.
