Russian troops advance in Zaporizhia region, encountering fierce resistance from Ukrainian defenders
Analysts report significant advances by Russian troops in the area of several settlements in Zaporizhia region. On June 27, fighting unexpectedly intensified in the Orikhiv direction, especially in the village of Stepove, Stepnohirsk settlement community, Vasylivka district. According to analysts, these new facts confirm the recent advance of Russian forces largely along the important E-105 highway connecting Vasylivka with Kamiansky. Geolocation videos released on June 27 show that the Russians have advanced westward toward the center of Kamianske, as well as successes southeast of the village of Mala Tokmachka. Video footage released three days earlier suggests that the enemy has become more active in these regions, trying to gain a foothold there. On the morning of June 28, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted in its evening operational summary that over the past 24 hours in the Orikhiv direction, the Russians have launched three air attacks on Ukrainian positions near Kamianske, but all attempts have been repulsed without achieving tactical success.
