Russian drones attacked Ukraine again: air defense operating in Kyiv region and alarm across the country

On the evening of June 28, a missile and air raid took place in the Kyiv region — Ukrainian air defense forces actively responded, intercepting attempts by Russian drones to penetrate Ukrainian airspace. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, air defense was engaged in the region, attempting to shoot down the hostile drones, while Ukrainian defenders diligently carried out their duties under challenging conditions. At the same time, authorities urged residents to stay calm, refrain from recording air defense operations, and remain in shelters, as the situation remained tense. Monitoring services reported that Russian reconnaissance identified several unmanned aerial vehicles moving over multiple regions of Ukraine. Attacks by the aggressor were recorded in the following oblasts: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk. In all these regions, an air raid alert was declared, indicating the scale of the attack and its level of danger to the local population and infrastructure. Additionally, it should be noted that on the same evening, Russia launched a new attempt to attack Kharkiv — the city was again hit by drones. As a result of this attack, there are casualties among civilians; details about the condition of the victims are currently being clarified. Emergency services are working in the city to assist the wounded and to eliminate the consequences of the enemy actions. This series of incidents confirms the trend of intensified Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure and settlements, which has been ongoing for several weeks. Ukrainian defense forces continue to actively fight the aggressor, employing modern air defense systems to neutralize enemy targets, but the situation remains tense and requires constant attention and readiness from Ukrainian citizens and military personnel.
