Russian drone destroys humanitarian bus in Dnipropetrovsk region

In a tragic and cynical attack, the humanitarian mission "Prolisok" in the Dnipropetrovsk region was targeted. On June 28, Russian military forces carried out a deliberate airstrike with a drone against a bus traveling to evacuate civilians from the Synelnykove district. The head of the mission, Yevhen Kaplin, reported this attack on his Facebook page. According to him, the Russian drone dropped a fragmentation-And explosive device — the charge landed only half a meter from the minibus, causing extensive damage. At the moment of the attack, there were no passengers on the bus — the vehicle was heading to settlements from which residents were to be evacuated. The driver, surprisingly, remained unharmed and did not sustain any injuries. However, the consequences of the strike were destructive: the fuel tank was damaged, the back wheels were destroyed, and the windows shattered. Yevhen Kaplin stated that this attack is yet another proof that Russian troops do not shy away from targeting civilian objects, including humanitarian transport. This endangers the lives and health of those seeking rescue and demonstrates their ruthlessness. Currently, the Synelnykove district is under mandatory evacuation due to the threat of large-scale enemy attacks. According to local authorities, approximately 270,000 civilians remain in Donetska oblast, where evacuation is also ongoing — nearly 20,000 of whom are children. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, over 1.2 million people have left Donetsk region. In communities that are in active combat zones, about 24,500 residents remain, including over 120 children. In five settlements, forced evacuation of families with children continues: there are still 89 minors left who are currently unable to leave the combat zone. This incident underscores the harsh reality faced by Ukrainians at the front and in the rear, as even humanitarian missions aimed at saving civilians are targeted by Russian forces. Due to regular shelling and attacks initiated by the aggressor, thousands of civilians remain in dangerous areas, and evacuation often becomes a difficult or impossible task. Yet, even under such challenging conditions, Ukrainian volunteers and response services continue their work to save as many lives as possible, proving that human courage and resilience are the most crucial factors in achieving victory.
