If the US is keen to reach a deal with Iran, it must change its tone and approach to negotiations and show respect for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Iranian people. The country’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has sharply dismissed recent statements by US President Donald Trump, who in his public statements has shown disrespect and humiliated the Supreme Leader and his supporters. On his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter), he stressed that such an approach can only worsen the situation and close the paths to finding mutually beneficial solutions. The minister recalled that the Iranian people, who have already shown the world their ability and fighting spirit, do not deserve threats and humiliating words. According to him, the Iranians have a clear intention to defend their country from any external encroachments and insidious provocations, especially in light of the recent crises and conflicts in the region. Araqchi emphasized that the Iranian population responds with understanding and dignity to any threats, and the country is ready to demonstrate its real capabilities to defend its independence. "If the situation worsens, Iran will not stand aside and will defend its interests and security, showing its strength and determination, which will put an end to any illusions about the power of the enemy," he warned. The head of diplomacy emphasized that respect and goodwill can create a favorable field for dialogue. Based on this, it is precisely the observance of etiquette and mutual respect that should become the foundation for negotiations. By minimizing insults and disrespect, one can create favorable conditions for resolving the conflict and restoring diplomatic relations. Meanwhile, according to US media, the Trump administration is considering offering Iran significant investments — up to $30 billion — to support its civilian nuclear program, ease sanctions, and unlock some of the funds held in its accounts. This is part of an attempt to bring the country back to the negotiating table and restore diplomatic ties. After Trump’s public statements about the possible resumption of talks next week, Tehran denied this information, noting that there are currently no concrete discussions on returning to dialogue. Thus, tensions between the US and Iran remain high. Kyiv and Tehran are still on different positions: while the US is trying to find a compromise within the framework of diplomacy, the former continues to strictly adhere to its position, recalling that any attempts to impose its will or reduce the level of respect for the Iranian leader will inevitably lead to increased tension in the region and a complication of the situation on the international stage.
