Massive attack by Russian drones: features and consequences of the current night attack in Ukraine

The head of the communications department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, in his commentary for the telethon, spoke about the unique features of the last night attack by the Russian occupiers on Ukrainian territory. According to the specialist, this time the enemy forces used a rather limited number of strike drones - only 23 units - compared to typical massive attacks, when the raid can consist of 40, 100 or even more drones at the same time. Ignat emphasized that all these 23 drones, which were launched on the night of Monday to Tuesday, are mainly combat "Shaheeds", and not imitators. This indicates a change in the enemy's tactics or the parameters of its weapons. Most of them were directed at the target - the regional center of Odessa and the surrounding areas. During the attack, one of the drones hit a multi-storey residential building in the city, which caused serious consequences. According to Yuriy Ignat, as a result of a targeted drone strike in one of the apartment buildings in the center of Odessa, local teacher Kateryna Borsynska, who worked at the Mikhailovsky Lyceum, died. It is also known that in the same area, 14 more adults and three children who were in the apartment during the attack received injuries of varying severity. The condition of almost all of the victims required medical intervention, but remains extremely difficult for many. This night attack once again confirms that the Russian occupiers are using fewer drones, but with greater targeting, which negatively affects civilians and the city's infrastructure. Ukrainian military and rescue services are now on high alert, dealing with the aftermath and strengthening air defense systems to prevent new attacks and protect their citizens.
