On the night of June 28, Odesa was the victim of a large-scale enemy drone attack, which claimed the lives of several people and left dozens injured. According to local authorities and rescue workers, during the night attack, the Russians hit a residential building on the 21st floor, causing a fire and destruction on several floors, as well as leaving several children and adults homeless. The situation in the city remained tense, with constant air raids. Rescue services arrived at the scene early in the morning, discovering the bodies of a married couple who died as a result of a hostile drone hitting their apartment. According to the city’s mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, this tragic incident was the most terrible consequence of the attack, and work is currently underway to eliminate the consequences of the destruction. City services are working around the clock, involving psychologists to support the victims and creating temporary aid points for residents. The Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that as of this morning, four adults and two children injured in the night attack are in medical facilities. In particular, a seven-year-old child is in moderate condition and a three-year-old child who was poisoned by combustion products. Doctors are doing everything possible for their recovery. It is also known that four more adults were injured and are currently in hospitals in moderate condition. The operational headquarters of the district administration has been deployed to coordinate the work on eliminating the consequences and providing assistance. At night, the State Emergency Service reported that as a result of the strike, a large-scale fire broke out on several floors of a residential high-rise building - on the 7th, 8th and 9th floors. People were sealed off in their apartments due to destroyed stairs and damaged entrances. At the same time, rescuers published photos and videos from the scene, demonstrating the scale of the destruction and the efforts being made for the rescue operation. Specialists are working on site to provide support and psychological assistance to the victims, and the Indestructibility Point has also been deployed, which is a safe place for residents in case of repeated alarms. The situation was complicated by constant anxiety, as repeated air raid alarms sounded in the city, which interrupted the work of rescuers and caused even greater stress among residents. Before this, local authorities had already reported about the victims during the previous night, but the results were updated several times and complicated. Now the picture has become even more tragic - the loss of life and the destruction of buildings emphasize the scale of the aggression and the complexity of the situation in which the city found itself. Local authorities are calling on residents to remain calm, adhere to safety and wait for further information and assistance in the face of the continuing threat.
